Parkwood VFD Softball Team Entering Playoffs!
Check Out The PVFD Softball Gallery! (Hi Res)

I know there are people out there that love playing softball as much as I do...well, now is our chance! PVFD is sponsoring a co-ed softball team to play this fall through the Parkwood Athletic Association. Games will be held on Sundays at the ball field across the parking lot. We will begin in August. We need a minimum of 5 women and 5 men to play, but ideally, we should have about 15 people. If you are intersted in playing and you know you can commit to an hour game on Sundays....please let either Lisa West or Mario Herrera know. So dust off those bats and gloves, and come on out for some fun and physical activity. Let's play ball!

Playing through the Parkwood Athletic Association, players are asked to pay $15 for the season. This is separate from the team fee of $440.00 which will be covered by PVFD. You can also pay $25 instead to cover you for the spring season as well. All fees need to be paid prior to the first game, to PAA.

The season has begun Sunday, August 21st with the final regular season game Sunday, November 6th. Tournament play will follow on the 12th, 13th and 20th. Games will be scheduled @ either 3, 4, 5:30, 6:30, 7:30 or 8:30 and last 50 min - 1 hour. So, depending on the week will determine what time the game is. Please understand that we have to have a MINIMUM of 4 women and 4 men to play...otherwise we will have to forfeit the game. The ideal number is 5 and 5.

Shake It Off!
Additional practice games will be scheduled in the near future.

Practice sessions will either be held at one of the fields BEHIND Parkwood Elementary school or at the actual ballfield next to the Parkwood Library.

The Parkwood Athletic Association has supplied the official rules for the PAA Coed Softball league. An official bat list has also been made available.

The schedule for the upcoming season is available for viewing. There are 11 teams competing this season. Everyone plays everyone one time & then there will be a double elimination tournament. The seasons starts on August 21st and will end Sunday November 19th.

Please note on the schedule that the teams in bold are responsible for keeping score for all games that day. Remember the 4:00 teams are to rake and reline the field and the teams playing at 5:30 and 8:30 times are to empty the garbage cans.
