Mission Statement

The purpose of the Parkwood Volunteer Fire Department (PVFD) shall be to protect lives and property from the injurious effects of fire, medical emergencies,hazardous materials, and acts of nature within the PVFD fire and EMS districts, areas contracted by the PVFD, and all incidents while providing services within the scope of the mutual aid agreements in effect with other agencies.

The PVFD is committed to the delivery of effective, courteous, and timely service while ensuring that our duties and tasks are performed with our personal safety, the safety of our fellow responders, and the safety of our customers being our primary concern. Services shall be provided without regard to race, national origin, religion, physical or mental disability, or medical condition, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, age, or political affiliation or belief.

Board of Directors - The Board shall establish department and corporate policies which are generally long-term, broad statements or purpose.

  • Policy is the formal guidance needed to coordinate and execute activity throughout the organization. When effectively deployed, policy statements help focus attention and resources on high priority issues and align efforts to achieve the organization's goals.
